Mental Health
Mental Health services at The Good Tree include psychiatry and counseling. Our psychiatry services provide medication treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, primarily focusing on cases where symptoms are in the moderate to severe range. On the other hand, our counseling services offer a diverse set of non-medication approaches that effectively address mental health symptoms hindering daily functioning. These services are particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing symptoms in the mild to moderate range, and can also be used in conjunction with medication treatment when appropriate.

It is important to note that for telepsychiatry appointments with The Good Tree, you must be a resident of the State of Iowa and physically present in Iowa during the scheduled appointment.

Counseling
While medications can be valuable in treating mental health conditions, there are instances where they may not be necessary or fully effective on their own. In such cases, incorporating counseling can be an effective approach to address mental health challenges more holistically. Counseling serves as a non-pharmacological alternative that focuses on evidence-based therapies, emotional support, coping strategies, and self-care practices. It provides individuals with the opportunity to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns, gaining insights and developing practical skills to manage and alleviate symptoms. This process promotes long-term healing and personal growth. Dr. Walsh recognizes the significance of integrating your spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process and creates a safe and compassionate space for you to address these important aspects of your life during counseling sessions when appropriate.
